Celebrating World Postcard Day 2026 at the Palacio de Correos!

Fellow postcard lovers and mail enthusiasts, we have wonderful news! To commemorate this year’s World Postcard Day (WPD), Correos de Guatemala has created a brand-new special commemorative cancellation postmark inspired by the official 2026 theme: “Paper Bridges”.

Our official meetup will take place this Friday, October 3 at the iconic Palacio de Correos (Zone 1, Guatemala City). It is the perfect opportunity to gather together, write postcards, share stories, and fill mailboxes with joy all around the world!

The Story Behind the Theme: Paper Bridges 🌉

Every postcard begins as a small piece of paper… but once it is written, stamped, and sent, it becomes something much larger: a bridge between two people.

Paper Bridges, the 2026 World Postcard Day theme, celebrates that metamorphosis of a paper object into a special form of connection that bridges the space between sender and recipient. The official 2026 artwork was created by Oce (On Instagram at @ohhsayy), whose design plays with folded-paper shapes, bold lettering, and bridge-like forms woven into the typography. It is a playful reminder that postcards do more than carry messages: they help bring us together.

We are thrilled to see this concept come to life locally with our new postmark designed in harmony with this year’s global spirit!

Two Exclusive Postcard Designs 🎨

To make this celebration even more memorable, we will have two unique postcard designs available:

  1. Special Design by Anna Antonyuk: A stunning piece created by the talented artist Anna Antonyuk (find her on Instagram at @dreamabout.space), produced in collaboration with Postcards.ee. Her dreamy, space-inspired style adds a touch of magic to any collection.
  2. WPD Commemorative Design: Our special design created to celebrate the date and our shared passion for traditional mail.
